Numerical Modeling of the Physical Properties in the Perisan Gulf
The Persian Gulf located in south of Iran is near some Arabic countries like Emirates, Oman and Qatar. There are several benefits about this basin for the people living there such as fisheries and shipping. Modeling phenomena under water helps to be informed of subject of sea water. We want to learn about wave motion, currents and other properties. An applied method to model bodies of water is a program named POM (Princeton Ocean Model). It is based on shallow water equations with some approximations. Applying initial and boundary conditions on the Persian Gulf and using data collected in 1992 by Mt. Mitchel cruise, this mathematical computer modeling was run. Prediction of temperature, salinity and turbulence kinetic energy for this water basin are results of this work. An applied mathematical model would be presented for scientific studying water basins like the Persian Gulf through this paper.
